Atalaia lays in the 'Serra' or hills of São Teotónio, in the South-West of the Alentejo. The hills are an extension of the 'Serra de Monchique' more to the South. Our surroundings are therefor pure nature with the typical Alentejan flora and fauna. Most typical are the many cork and oak trees. The many dirt roads in between and over the hills make it a wonderful hiking area with spectacular views. In addition, the famous "Rota Vicentina" hiking trail passes nearby.
